The Lonely Dove #chap.1

My name is emma. My parents abandoned me when i was two and this is my story.

"emma! supper's ready, my dear!"

i jumped as matron methersons voice startles me, stealing me away from my glorious daydream.

It was a week before christmas, and the suppons orphanage's girls and boys were about to have the reunion supper where all the ex-orphans came and visited us. I had been looking forward to this night for months. The memories of the crackling bonfire of which we toasted marshmallows over, the stories the grown-ups would tell us of their adoptions and how their life changed. It was one of the most exciting times of the year.

Matron Metherson rushed over to me, grabbed my wrist and pulled me to my feet before rushing off downstairs ordering me to get dressed in my sunday best straight away.

One I was all dressed and done up, I made my way to the dining hall where all the meet-and-greets occured, starting the magical night. The delightful smell of christmas ham hit me as soon as i started making my way down the stairs, sending my stomach into a rumbling frenzy.

"Emma, darling! Over here!" I turned around to see matron cisty striding over to me, followed by two middle-aged ladies. The first one I spotted had extremely long hair, almost up to her knees. I had never seen anything like it before. The second, a petite woman with glasses."I'd like to introduce you to two very inspiring women with a story similiar to yours. Michelle, Fiona. This is Emma". The two ladies both smiled at me warmly before shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you" I said, trying to be as polite as I possibly could to two strangers who I had just met.
"Lovely to meet you. My name is Michelle" said the woman with the extremely long hair. "I can't wait to share my story with you." I smiled back at her and turned to the next woman.
"Hello" i said. I had nothing to say to these strangers, nothing to talk about, and nothing in common with them that I knew of, so how was I supposed to just click with them? Sure, they seemed nice and easy enough to get along with, but still...
"Why, helllo dear. I'm Fiona. It's a pleasure to meet you. I have been told we have a lot in common from my history, and I stayed in the C3 dorm, the same as you"
"Yes, that's my dorm" i replied shyly. I searched my brain for something, anything, to start of a conversation. Aha! "So, what was your time here like?" I asked, not particularly to either one, but it was something.
Fiona answered my question first. "I would love to tell you that I loved growing up here and that I had tons of fun, but that would be lying and I don't wanna lie to you, So, honestly? I hated it. I would of given up everything to have a family. Every night i would cry myself to sleep, hoping that one day I would get adopted. I remember one night, I snuck out to try and find my partents. They called me an orphan even though my parents were alive. Just like with you. I actually eventually ended up finding my parents. But I got sent back to the orphanage the next day." I was shocked to hear that she actually ran away, and not just that, but she found her real parents! That's what started my dilemma...
